Challenge: 

The inefficiency of Capita Consulting’s resourcing programme was adversely affecting the resourcing department - and the consultants themselves. Disparate systems prevented a single consolidated view of resource plans. Meanwhile, building reports for regular sales meetings was extremely time-consuming. This affected sales forecast reports – making informative management information hard to obtain.

Solution: 

A standard Salesforce implementation, along with a customised opportunity and engagement process. In addition, a resource planning module was employed – this allowed named resources to be added and scheduled.

As a result, Capita now have weekly and monthly resource summary forecasts. These are complimented by reports that compare targets with actual performance.

The resource department also receives reports on over- and under-utilisation of named resources. As well as making scheduling easier, an early view of resource plans provides better recruitment planning.
